VOLUNTEERS: Riding and Road Safety Course – Saturday 23rd April 2016 – 2pm-4pm
It is so nice for the horses and ponies to be hacked out, keeping them stimulated and providing a change of scenery. However, to maximise volunteer safety, riding has to be to of a certain standard and the above course should be attended to gain more knowledge of hazard perception.
The course will take place in the Ravelrig Clubroom and you can register your attendance by adding your name to the list on the Volunteer Board. Places are limited to 14 but there will be further courses in the future.
Ravelrig RDA’s first Ladies Pampering Afternoon Tea was a resounding success raising a magnificent £850! Thanks to all those who attended and made the afternoon such good fun.
Great result again from our regular February book sale held in the Gyle Shopping Centre each year. With mountains of books to offer, the enthusiastic volunteer team brought in a fantastic £860.
Huge thanks to our fundraising friend Mrs Alison Keegan from Juniper Green who handed over a cheque today for £1,460 following a fantastic Cabaret Night held on 18th March in Juniper Green Bowling Club.
Thank you to all who donated goods or helped out at our annual fundraising Jumble Sale. We had a fantastic day and raised a grand total of £1,800 which will go towards our general running costs of more than £60,000 per year.
At last nights RBS Real Heroes Award Ceremony Jewel was successful in winning the Hero Animal of the Year category. The star studded event was hosted by Carol Smillie and held at the RBS Headquarters in Edinburgh.
