Coming Soon! …… The Big Barn Charity Shop & Tack Shop

Work has started to transform the space we have available in the Big Barn into a Charity Shop.  Ravelrig RDA has been the very lucky recipient of donations  of large furniture pieces right down to china tea sets, children’s toys and many, many more things.  There have been so many items donated over the last 6 months, that the Barn is now full and so the sorting out, organising and displaying the many items is now underway.

We are planning to have the Barn open to the public for you to browse all the items from Saturday 5th February from 10am and will have the Barn open initially every Saturday morning for a couple of hours on every Saturday morning from then on.  Admittance on other days can be arranged by calling the Office on 0131 449 7994 and arrangements can be made to gain access.

Currently available in the Barn for sale are 21 dinning chairs.  They are very good quality and perfect for Domestic or Commercial use and we would be happy to sell them on in batches of 4 or 6 as required.

Keep an eye on the ‘Shop’ section on the Homepage for further details and photos of items that are for sale.

*New Date * Car Boot Sale

Applications for the next Car Boot Sale are now open.  The event is planned for Sunday 17 July.

Reservations are coming in, so if you are interested, please get in touch.  large Cars/SUV ‘s £18, Small Cars £12 , tables for hire £4.

Please Contact Deb Heatly on 0131 4497994 or by email at fundraising@ravelrig-rda.org.uk for an information pack.

Our first Car Boot Sale was to be held this coming weekend (5 June), but unfortunately we have had to cancel this as it clashed with the ‘Jubilee Celebrations’ and as a result, our numbers were down.  We therefore made the decision to cancel, but are happy to announce that the 2 remaining sales on July 17th and September 4th will go ahead.

The 2 events will be held on the grounds of Ravelrig Riding for the Disabled in Balerno and both events will be open to the public from 11am – 2pm.

Any donations for the raffle table and tombola table would be gratefully received

We are looking forward to seeing you all to the Stables.  There will be food & drink available and hopefully, we will be pleased with good weather.  All proceeds from the Car Boot Sales, go directly to the financial running and upkeep of the Stables’ expenses.

Harbro Promotion

On Wednesday 22 September, we were delighted to welcome the Harbro Marketing Team to Ravelrig RDA.  The aim of their visit was to promote a Scottish Nationwide Sales drive, whereby a donation for every bag of horse feed would come to the RDA.

The visit was a most successful one with Thumper and Tonto standing beautifully and posing for a number of photos!!  Many thanks to the group of volunteers and riders who were at the Stables that morning, who happily agreed to be photographed and filmed.

A really fun day, and on behalf of  all the RDA sited in Scotland, our thanks to Harbro for the donations that will come our way over the coming year.

Say it with a card

It’s always lovely to receive a card in the post, it is certainly an improvement on a bill or bank statement.

Communication these days is done mostly by text, email or Facebook. Cards and good old fashioned letters are a rare sight to see on your door mat. We are a listed charity on the card website greetingscards.co.uk and benefit every time you buy a card, so everyone is a winner.

Make sure you remember to send a friend or family a birthday card, a get well card, a thank you card or just a hi, how you doing card, it really can make someone’s day.

Go on, send someone a card today

Volunteers

We recently posted a couple of pictures on our Facebook page of two of our wonderful volunteers accepting awards in 2014.
