There has always been a sense of community in this part of Edinburgh. People communicating, supporting and helping each other to make our community better for everyone and it’s a lovely feeling to be part of it.
The Coop in Corslet Place, Currie has been a wonderful supporter of Ravelrig for the last year while we have been part of the Coop’s Community Local Fund. Kerry, Scott, Craig and all their team have been out to see us a few times and even joined in our Summer Open Day.
Being one of the three local charities the store has supported has been an honour, but has unfortunately come to an end. We will apply for the next round but what we have achieved this time is fantastic and it will really make a difference and allow us to develop and support our volunteer coaches.
Some of the Saturday volunteers will be heading to Corslet Place Coop on Saturday 24th November to collect our final payment cheque from the store’s team so we are really excited about that. Pop along about 3pm if you want to join in the fun.
We have had a run of bad luck with the horses recently, with Oreo and Teemo both being lame and Harris being badly injured.
Oreo has received the all clear from the vet, which we are really happy about and he is back out with his pals growing a beautiful winter coat. Harris continues his stable rest with a regular lead rope walk around to keep him from getting too stiff. He had his staples removed from his wound which is healing well. However, Teemo is still lame and we are speaking to the vets about the best course of treatment for him.
Thank you to the riders and their families for understanding and being so patient as we manage the situation.
