We are looking for help on Saturday 12th January to deliver Jumble Sale leaflets in and around Balerno & Currie. Pop along to Ravelrig in the morning – the more the merrier.

Thank you!

Every penny counts

I may have taken that quote from a well known supermarket, but it really does make sense, especially for Ravelrig RDA.

We have a number of Fundraising events each year, we’ve just done a bag pack at Asda and we are gearing up for the annual Jumble Sale at the end of January. These events help boost the income to allow us to keep up with the expenditure at Ravelrig.

Here’s just a few things we use the money for

  • feed
  • vet bills
  • bedding
  • farrier
  • fencing
  • insurance
  • saddlery & tack
  • vehicle maintenance
  • heat, light & building maintenance
  • and many more

Having a clear out?

The start of a new year always makes me think of all the things I need to sort out and clear out.  How many bags does one person really need? Will I ever read that book again?  and that jumper that I thought I would love, but never wear is taking up too much space.

Ravelrig RDA, to the rescue!  We are having our annual Jumble Sale on the 26th January and it’s the ideal time to sort through those unused and unworn items in your house.

You can either bring your Jumble to Balerno High School on Friday 25th January between 6pm and 8pm, drop them off at Ravelrig in the run up or let us know and we can collect larger items.

Thank you and remember to come along to the event on Saturday 26th January 10am – 12noon and support Ravelrig RDA

Bag Packing

Thank you to the volunteers, riders and families who came to bag pack at Asda on the 31st December. The shop was really busy with people buying last minute supplies for their parties and celebrations, so there was a real buzz.

Thank you also to the staff at Asda and Gary their Community Champion who allowed us to take part in this great fundraising event.

We raised a fantastic £1,232.90!!!!!

Edible Ravelrig RDA

Yes, it looks too good to eat, but I am sure it won’t take long to be enjoyed.      Isla, one of Ravelrig’s wonderful Wednesday volunteers has been very busy and created an amazing edible Ravelrig.  It is made from ginger biscuits and it took Isla 16 hours to design and make.

The stables are all named, the club room and conservatory, the office and let’s not forget the poo trailer, featuring edible poop.  As Isla said “it’s a very important part of Ravelrig.”

Well Done Isla, it’s absolutely brilliant!
