Our Open Days just wouldn’t be the same if we didn’t have the wonderful home baking that our volunteers and supporters provide.
The tasty treats look tantalisingly delicious and we usually sell out of them pretty fast. We have a dedicated stall for the baking and we also have some in the cafe. Last year we had cakes all shapes and sizes and calorific proportions.
So, grab your pinny, get your mixing bowl out and get baking for Ravelrig. We made almost £200 last year with the baking, let’s see if we can beat that figure!
Thank you to everyone who helped with our Christmas Open Day preparations and those who helped on the day, without you all we couldn’t have done it, so thank you!!
Thank you also to those who came along on the day, we had a great time and we hope you did too.
Santa rode in with his elves on horseback after having a tour of Balerno. Settling in to his cosy grotto he managed to meet all the children and make sure he had a note of exactly what they wanted for Christmas, so he wouldn’t forget!
With the wonderfully tasty homebaking, warming homemade soup and hot dogs no one went hungry. Craft and game stalls, live music, our Tombolas and raffle went really well and not forgetting our pony rides. There was lots of fun for everyone.
With your help and support we raised over £1,500 for Ravelrig, so a huge big sparkling Thank you from us all!
We are holding our fantastically sparkly Christmas Open Day on the 26th November from 12pm – 3pm and you are ALL invited.
Katie in the office at Ravelrig has been in touch with Santa’s Elves and we can confirm he is booked to come and visit us, so come along and meet Santa.
There will be lots of other fun things to see and do during the day, from refreshments, our tasty home baking, stalls, raffle, tombolas, games and crafts. The wonderful Ravelrig horses will also be there for you to meet and even ride.
So get your diary out and mark the 26th November as your “FUN DAY at Ravelrig” and we look forward to welcoming you all along to the stables.

They are raising money in a number of ways, including regular baking events and this is where their brilliant recipe book has come from.
With 47 mouth watering recipes to tempt you this little book certainly packs a sweet punch. It will make a great gift for yourself or maybe you know someone who wants to get in to baking, needs new recipes to try out or someone recently moved house.
For just £4.50 it can be yours and all proceeds go back to Ravelrig.
I can’t vouch for all the recipes but I can certainly say that the Maltese cake is a must try!
If you would like to purchase one, drop in to the office or drop firstname.lastname@example.org an email.
