We receive a lot of donations at Ravelrig RDA and are so grateful for the generosity of individuals and companies.
This weekend alone we had the Land Rover serviced and put through its MOT Free of Charge thanks to Andy White of White’s Auto Services in Dalry. It was completely unexpected and such a kind gesture, we are so grateful.
We also received a car wash pack from Halfords at Hermiston Gait to help us get started on our Fundraising Car Wash in September.
Then on Saturday we had another call from our friends at Corstorphine Tesco to say that they had more carrots to donate to us. Barbara popped along to the store on Saturday evening to collect a trolley load from Andrew the Fruit and Vegetable Manager. Carrots are a favoured healthy snack for the horses, so we are sure they won’t take too long to crunch their way through them.
It’s now only 12 days until our Summer Open Day on the 17th June.
Opening at 12noon – 4pm the day is set to be a great event with pony rides, raffles, tombolas, craft stalls, BBQ, cafe and lots more to keep you entertained.
Remember if you have any items you can donate to our four Tombolas please bring them to the Club Room by 14th June. Toys, Chocolate, General and Bottle Tombolas
We are also looking for your wonderful homebaking again so grab your pinny and get baking.
If you are able to give a couple of hours on Sunday 10th June to help tidy the stables and gardens in preparation for the event please pop over between 9am – 6pm on 10th June. For more information about this click here
And if you are able to help out on the day please add your name to the list pinned to the Fundraising notice board in the Club Room.
With our Summer Open Day coming up on the 17th June we are looking for donations for our four Tombolas that we run on the day.
They are always popular and we are so grateful for all the donations received.
Last year the tombolas alone raised over £600, which is a fantastic amount, so please look out unwanted gifts, pick up items on special offer in the supermarket or why not donate that chocolate box you will definitely not need to eat!
If you can bring your donations along to Ravelrig and leave them in the club room by 14th June we would really appreciate it!
After the success of the April Book Sale we are holding another on the 30th September and 1st October at the Gyle Shopping Centre.
So, your challenge is to sort through your book cases and donate any unwanted books you may have. We raised over £600 for the stables in April and it would be fantastic to raise the same amount again, or even more!
Have a look around your home or maybe your friends are also having a clear out. Drop your books into the Office or Club Room. If you are unable to do that and would like someone to pick them up drop us an email.
Planning for the Ravelrig Open Day is in full swing with lots of to-do lists being worked through in preparation. There are lots of exciting things in the pipeline and we are all really excited about the big day.
We would like to put out an appeal for donations for our Raffle and Tombola. Do you have any items that would make a brilliant raffle prize or could you contribute to our chocolate or wine tombolas?
You can pop your donations in to the green boxes in the Club Room.
We are also looking for volunteers for the day itself. If you can give us some of your time on the Sunday to help out in anyway we would be really grateful. Either pop your name on the list on the Events notice board in the Club Room or drop Katie an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
