Become a volunteer

Experience with horses is not essential, there is always the opportunity to learn as we operate a system of cascade training whereby new volunteers are always teamed up with more experienced volunteers. There are also many things to do that don’t involve the ponies such as helping with fund raising events and general maintenance.

The Group has volunteers ranging in age from 12 to those in their 70’s!  In return for volunteering with the Group you become part of the unique community that is Ravelrig RDA.  Our wonderful volunteers have found their way to us in many ways, they are local to the area, want to give something back to the community, have children who ride at Ravelrig or just love working with people and ponies.

All potential volunteers are required to complete a Volunteer Application Form, sign the Volunteer Agreement and comply with the Ravelrig RDA Policy and Procedures document.

Each volunteer will receive a Role Description which outlines the duties they are expected to undertake.

If you are interested in volunteering please complete the Volunteer Application Form and Volunteer Agreement  and return to Elaine Jefferies, Volunteer Coordinator at Ravelrig RDA.  We will also require a Volunteer Reference Form for each applicant, this can be completed and sent with the application and agreement forms.

If you have any queries regarding volunteering with the Group please email our Volunteer Coordinator, Elaine Jefferies by clicking here.

To learn more about how you can get involved and what you can do to help Ravelrig listen to Hannah’s story.
