Being part of Ravelrig Riding for the Disabled has been, without a doubt, one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
The Power of the Connection
There is an incredible, almost silent magic in the bond between a participant and a horse. Horses don’t judge; they don’t care about disability, limitations, or bad days. They respond purely to patience, warmth, and gentleness.
To watch a participant—who might struggle with mobility, verbal communication, or anxiety—settle onto the back of a horse and immediately relax is breathtaking. The rhythmic movement of the horse works wonders physically, but the unspoken trust and quiet companionship built between horse and participant is where the true magic happens.
